Established in Christchurch in 1984, Ryman Healthcare operates 27 retirement villages in New Zealand and Australia. The retirement living and care options at Ryman villages range from independent townhouses and apartments, to resthome, hospital and dementia level care. Known for their resort-like facilities, the villages also offer a wide range of optional activities, including outings to regional attractions and scheduled trips to local shopping centres.
Ryman Healthcare needed to provide safe, comfortable transport of residents in the most economical way. Each fitout required around 10 rear passenger seats and as much luggage space as possible. Durable and easy to clean linings were another important requirement, to ensure the fitout would withstand frequent wear and tear.
To provide a high standard of comfort and safety for Ryman’s residents, Auto Transform recommended and fitted Suburban 4520 high back bucket seating in a three-row 3+3+4 configuration. All seats were fitted with lap and diagonal integrated retracting seatbelts. A luggage barrier was installed behind the rear row of seats to enable full use of the remaining 800mm of luggage space. To reduce noise levels on the road, sound deadening plywood was used to line the floor. This was overlaid with carpet and vinyl to provide an attractive, easy-to-clean finish. The entire fitout was fully certified to New Zealand safety standards.
“We were looking for a consistent supplier of vans to suit our needs and we found that your organisation had that product. The main benefit was the end product, the job was done and I didn’t have to worry about it. I didn’t have to do all the mucking around myself; it was done at that end. It’s a good product, an easy product and it’s delivered on time.”Ryman Healthcare
