The Friends of Morrinsville Charitable Trust operates three community transport vans, supporting elderly passengers who rely on safe, comfortable, and accessible travel around the region.
Many of the passengers relying on these vehicles require safe, stable, and confidence-building transport. Factory-standard interiors often fall short—difficult entry and exit , limited grab points, narrow uncomfortable seating, and insufficient accessibility features create unnecessary discomfort and risk, especially for elderly or mobility-impaired users.
To overcome these challenges, we engineered two tailored fitout configurations designed to greatly improve safety, comfort, and accessibility. By integrating purpose-built seating, custom grab handles, automatic entry steps, smartboard linings, vinyl flooring, and a full wheelchair-access system, each solution provides a more dignified and supportive travel experience. These enhancements not only address the physical limitations of standard vehicles but create an environment where passengers feel secure, respected, and well cared for.
