What’s the difference between a custom fitout and a standard setup?

A standard setup is built to suit most vehicles, not your job. That usually means generic shelving or racking that leaves wasted space, gear that’s hard to reach, or tools stored wherever they fit. Our custom fitouts use our modular storage systems, Trade System and Syncro System, to create a layout tailored to your work: Drawers, shelving and cupboards, including under-floor drawers , arranged around what you carry and how often you reach for it Modules sized and placed to make the most of every bit of load space Specialist equipment built in, such as tyre-changing gear, water tanks and hose reels, winches, or solar camera tower storage Different setups for different divisions, so your electrical team and your wet trades each get the layout they need We’ll work through your current setup with you and design a layout that fits your trade, your gear and your fleet. Can you install custom power systems, like dual batteries, inverters or solar?

Yes. Onboard power is often part of a custom build, especially for utility, infrastructure and remote-site work. We can integrate: Solar panels that charge a house battery Inverters to run tools and equipment from the vehicle Battery setups that keep equipment powered while the vehicle is parked or idling Secure, heavy-duty storage for batteries and sensitive equipment Power is planned in from the start of the design so it works with your layout and payload, not added as an afterthought. Can you prototype a custom fitout before rolling it out across our fleet?

Yes. For fleet programmes, we can build and sign off a first vehicle before rolling the design out to the rest. This lets you: Test the layout with the people who’ll use it every day Make changes before they’re repeated across every vehicle Lock in one standard specification for the full rollout, across vans, utes or a mix of both Once the design is approved, we roll it out in batches to suit your programme. Our fleet experience means we can standardise one fitout across multiple vehicles, even across different makes and models, with capacity for up to 65 vehicles a week at our Wiri facility. Will a custom fitout affect our vehicles’ compliance, payload or insurance?

Most commercial fitouts stay within the vehicle’s standard compliance limits. We plan for this as part of the design: Payload and GVM, so the fitout, your tools and your stock stay within the vehicle’s legal weight limits Additions such as steps or ladder racks, which we check for any certification requirements Lighter options, like the Syncro Aluminium line or an aluminium service body, where payload is tight For insurance, let your insurer know about the fitout. Your itemised quote gives them a clear record of what’s been installed.
