Step 1: Lowering the platform
To operate the full platform hoist, gently grab this out of there – your hand remote and press the down switch. It will automatically stop at floor level like that. Then you gotta press the switch one more time to bring it to the ground. Make sure that you are bringing it to as level ground as possible.
How do you know if the ground’s level? Your roll stop will open up flat if it is. If it isn’t, that will not open up flat.
Step 2: Loading the wheelchair and occupant
Loading your wheelchair occupant onto the platform. You need to centralise your wheelchair onto the platform and then ensure your brakes are on, on the wheelchair itself. Once your brakes are on, grab your hand remote and press the up switch to raise the hoist to van floor level.
Where it will stop automatically at floor level.
Step 3: Securing the wheelchair inside the vehicle
Your next step will be to come inside the vehicle and from the inside to put off the brakes on the wheelchair, and safely pull in your wheelchair occupant all the way inside to the desired position for travel, where you’ll then put on the brakes, put on the tie downs, and ensure that your wheelchair occupant is safe for travel.
Step 4: Raising the platform
Once your wheelchair occupant is safely strapped in the wheelchair with the tie downs, you can now come back out, press the up switch to fold your platform back into the folding position.
And there you have it.
