How to unjam a 2 point seatbelt

Kishen explains how to unjam a 2 point seatbelt

A 2-point seatbelt can jam when the webbing is pulled too quickly or at an awkward angle during use. In most cases, the issue isn’t the belt itself — it’s the retractor at the back of the seat, which can shift out of position over time. This short video walks through how to reset it and get the belt moving smoothly again.

You’ll need to remove the two plastic caps and the rear plastic pocket to access the retractor, then loosen the 8mm bolt, reposition the retractor to a 90° angle (or slightly lower) in line with the belt, and tighten it back up.

Watch the video below for a step-by-step walkthrough, and if the belt still won’t release after re-aligning the retractor , get in touch with our service team so we can take a closer look.

Video Transcript:

“This is a 2-point seat belt as it has two points, one and two. At times the belt can get jammed up when being yanked up and down during operation. Here’s a simple method to unjam it and get it working again .At the back you will need to remove the two plastic caps and undo the screws to remove the plastic pocket. Once the cover is removed, you will see the retractor at the back. If the retractor has moved out of position, it will start to jam. All that’s needed is to loosen the 8mm bolt, reposition the retractor, and tighten up again. The retractor should be placed at a 90° angle or slightly lower, also ensuring that it’s aligned with the belt when pulling out.”
