Securing a wheelchair with restraints

Step 1
Place wheelchair central between tie down points on the vehicle floor facing the driving position.

Slip wheelchair restraints into disc or into tracking.

Step 3
Fasten belts to ridged frame on wheelchair in all 4 positions.

Step 4
Attach front anchor point to wheelchair and anchor to the floor. (Never cross over the belts).

Step 5
Attach tie down as far apart as possible especially at rear.

Tighten tie downs to avoid webbing slackness.

Step 7
Attach pelvis belt (lap belt) to harness and fit across occupant between armrest and backrests, as tight as possible. Pelvis belt should be as low as possible around patient.

Step 8
Attach over shoulder belt across the shoulder right in the centre collar bone. (Optional if supplied).
